In recent years, Michael Dowdle has tended towards "soft and warm" jazz and religious music. While he excels at both of these, From The Hip shows he can really rip. If you need more proof of how good this guy is, look at how obscure he is--there's your proof. The solo in the title track with those open strings worked in is pretty flashy!5/5(1).
